Job Description

Our Community & Family Services Department is seeking to add a Community Recreation Specialist to their team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing various programs for the waiver respite and contract programs in Oneida County. You will work directly with groups of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community and agency recreation settings.

Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate open communication between staff, families, and individuals supported.
  2. Research and schedule community activities, providing monthly calendars to clients and families.
  3. Supervise program staff, including Respite Specialists and volunteers.
  4. Coordinate transportation, monitor vehicle maintenance, mileage, and fuel purchases.
  5. Participate in activities of daily living as needed.
  6. Implement habilitation plans utilizing community resources.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least three years of experience
  • Valid NY State Driver's License
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
