Job summary

Madison County Commission is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to plan and organize recreational activities across county facilities. The role focuses on program development for all ages, event coordination, and promoting community engagement.

The position collaborates with volunteer boards, parks staff, and outside organizations to schedule leagues, camps, clinics, and special events while ensuring safety and order at facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1–3 years in a recreation facility preferred.
• Ability to acquire Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification for summer pool maintenance.
• Degree in Physical Education, Parks and Recreation Management, or Recreation Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate leagues and tournaments; recruit teams and promote programs.
• Collaborate with volunteer boards to support program development and community engagement.
• Coordinate bookings, events, and rentals with organizations and county departments; resolve conflicts.
