Job summary

Humane Society of Sonoma County in Petaluma seeks a Community Programs Coordinator to support Community Services, Foster, and Volunteer Services. You will provide essential operational and administrative support to the Community Programs team on our Petaluma campus.

You will work closely with staff to engage volunteers, manage data and outreach, and ensure high-quality service to animals and their people. A collaborative, compassionate approach is key to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Advanced customer service experience with diverse groups or underserved communities.
• Experience using ShelterBuddy for animal records, intake, and daily shelter operations.
• Experience using Volgistics for volunteer scheduling and record management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
• Willingness to work flexible days and hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist development, implementation, and maintenance of pet food pantry and extension services at the Petaluma campus.
• Picks up, organizes, and sorts donations for the pet food pantry and distributions.
• Maintain relationships with local animal and human service organizations.
• Train and supervise volunteers for pantry, distributions, and outreach events.
• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, and training.
