Job summary

Project Access, Inc. is seeking a Community Program Coordinator for Southfork MHC to design and implement programs that enrich resident life and promote self-reliance.

Qualifications

  • Ability to build relationships, engage residents, and conduct proactive outreach in a community-based setting.
  • Strong work ethic with independence, follow-through, and consistent resident engagement.
  • Experience with youth, families, older adults, and diverse populations.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with MS Office; basic with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, Concur.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Implement core programs and services across four pillars: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building.
  • Conduct outreach and survey resident needs.
  • Coordinate after-school and teen programs including homework help and enrichment.
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate resident-facing workshops and group sessions.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers for services and workshops.
  • Plan and facilitate community-building events.
  • Provide residents with information and referrals to access resources and services.
  • Support food distribution through food bank partnerships.
  • Maintain relationships with the property management team.
  • Organize monthly outreach (door-to-door, digital/virtual, on-site).
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and interns.
  • Use vehicle for supplies and attend off-site meetings (mileage reimbursed).
  • Publish monthly newsletters and events calendar.
  • Collect program outcomes data with emphasis on social impact measures.
  • Assist with resident service program budgets and contractor authorizations.

About this position

The Resident Services Coordinator designs and implements programs that enhance community life for residents of all ages. They serve as a vital link between residents and services, creating value through targeted initiatives that address community needs. This role requires an innovative, proactive individual who excels in an autonomous environment, driving positive long‑term outcomes through an understanding of the communities in which they serve.

What you'll do
  • Implement core programs and services, connecting, engaging, and empowering residents across four initiatives: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building.
  • Conduct outreach and survey resident needs through community engagement aligned with our four pillars.
  • Coordinate and oversee after‑school and teen programs encompassing homework assistance and educational enrichment activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate resident‑facing workshops and group sessions; when external partners are unavailable, deliver core topics directly to maintain consistency and resident engagement.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers to deliver services and workshops.
  • Plan and facilitate community‑building events that foster safe and meaningful relationships between community members.
  • Provide residents with information and referrals to access community resources and services, specifically connecting residents with nonprofit partners who deliver services within our four pillars framework.
  • Support food distribution needs in the community, including maintaining food bank partnerships and distribution management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the property management team, scheduling regular communication sessions.
  • Organize and conduct monthly outreach requirements including door‑to‑door outreach, digital/virtual outreach, and physical presence in high‑traffic locations.
  • Recruit, select, train, and oversee volunteers and interns who support programming at the Resource Center.
  • Use personal automobile to acquire program supplies and donations and attend off‑site meetings (mileage reimbursed at IRS rate).
  • Publish monthly newsletters and calendar of events.
  • Collect and submit program outcomes data with emphasis on social impact data collection to measure outcomes within our four pillars.
  • Provide input and adhere to resident service program budgets, including authority to utilize funds for contractors when needed.
What you'll bring
  • Experience in community outreach, resident services, social services, education, youth programming, multifamily housing, or a related field preferred; equivalent lived, volunteer, or community‑based experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, engage residents, and conduct proactive outreach in a community‑based setting.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take initiative in a role that requires independence, follow‑through, and consistent resident engagement.
  • Experience or comfort working with youth, families, older adults, and diverse populations.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for residents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Community Development, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook); basic with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, Concur.
  • Physical requirements: minimal bending, walking, kneeling, reaching, and step climbing; able to lift up to 30 pounds, including boxes of food for a supplemental food distribution program.
Credentials/Certifications
  • Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance.
  • CPR & First Aid certified (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Successful completion of background check.
Details
  • Position type: part‑time, non‑exempt (20 hrs/wk).
  • Schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 2pm – 6pm; Saturday, 10am – 2pm.
  • Location: Southfork MHC, 1301 North Scott Ave, Belton, MO.
  • Wage: $24/hr.
