Community Program Coordinator (Meridian)

About this position

The Resident Services Coordinator designs and implements programs that enhance community life for residents of all ages. They serve as a vital link between residents and services, creating value through targeted initiatives that address community needs. This role requires an innovative, proactive individual who excels in an autonomous environment, driving positive long‑term outcomes through an understanding of the communities in which they serve.

What you'll do
  • Implement core programs and services, connecting, engaging, and empowering residents across four initiatives: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building.
  • Conduct outreach and survey resident needs through community engagement aligned with our four pillars.
  • Coordinate and oversee an after‑school program and teen program encompassing homework assistance and educational enrichment activities.
  • Independently plan, prepare, and facilitate resident‑facing workshops and group sessions; when external partners are unavailable, deliver core topics directly to maintain consistency.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers to deliver services and workshops.
  • Plan and facilitate community‑building events that foster safe and meaningful relationships among community members.
  • Provide residents with information and referrals to access community resources and services, connecting them with nonprofit partners.
  • Support food distribution needs, maintaining food bank partnerships and distribution management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the property‑management team and schedule regular communication sessions.
  • Organize and conduct monthly outreach requirements: door‑to‑door, digital/virtual, and physical presence in high‑traffic locations.
  • Recruit, select, train, and oversee volunteers and interns supporting programming at the Resource Center.
  • Use personal automobile to acquire program supplies and attend off‑site meetings (mileage reimbursed at IRS rate).
  • Publish monthly newsletters and calendars of events.
  • Collect and submit program outcomes data, emphasizing social impact data collection to measure outcomes within our four pillars.
  • Provide input and adhere to budgets for resident service programs; authorized to utilize funds for contractors when needed.
What you'll bring
  • Two years of experience in multi‑family housing or related fields such as social services or community outreach; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year experience in both:
    • after‑school programs or educational settings for youth
    • serving diverse populations, demonstrating cultural competency and community awareness
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook). Basic with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, Concur.
  • Strong time‑management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Self‑starter, multi‑tasker, and strong communicator.
  • Physical activity includes minimal bending, walking, kneeling, reaching, and step climbing; able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Credentials/Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance.
  • CPR & First Aid certified (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Successful completion of background check.
The details
  • This is a part‑time (21 hrs/wk), non‑exempt position.
  • Schedule:
    • Monday, 1pm‑6pm; Tuesday‑Friday, 2pm‑6pm. Occasional Saturday for an event. Schedule is subject to change.
  • Location: Meridian Apartments, 388 Charles Street, Sunnyvale, CA, 94086.
  • Wage: $28.50/hr.
