You will be a core team member, leading prevention initiatives in the community and across libraries in Knox, Daviess, and Sullivan Counties. The role focuses on prevention programming, including forums and naloxone trainings, backed by a four-year federal award with health insurance, retirement, and credentialing

Responsibilities

  • Lead prevention outreach in the community and public libraries across Knox, Daviess, and Sullivan Counties.
  • Coordinate open forums, Overdose Lifeline programming, nutrition workshops, and naloxone trainings.
  • Support staff development and credentialing through IC&RC Prevention Specialist credentialing process.
  • Work the schedule around youth needs: typically 10 a.m.–6 p.m. or 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

COMMUNITY PREVENTION SPECIALIST

Regular Full Time Professional VINCENNES, IN, US

Salary Range: $38,500.00 To $40,000.00 Annually

Spend your days building the kind of place you wish existed when you were a teenager. As a Prevention Specialist with CFS, Corp., you will be a core staff member of the Vincennes Teen Center, a safe, welcoming space where youth find after-school activities, theater arts, and adults who show up for them. You will also take prevention into the community, leading open forums, Overdose Lifeline programming, nutrition workshops, and naloxone trainings in public libraries across Knox, Daviess, and Sullivan Counties.
This is a newly funded, salaried position backed by a four-year federal award, with health insurance, retirement, and paid support to earn your IC&RC Prevention Specialist credential. Your schedule is built around when youth need you most: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you are creative, energetic, and ready to be the reason a young person chooses a different path, we want to meet you.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates understanding of CFS, Corp. mission, vision, core values,and strategic plan.

  • Understands and utilizes established policies and procedures in makingdecisions.

  • Attends scheduled staff meetings, group meetings, and other staff and group activities essential for effective program and service delivery, and to promote communications andthe proper flow of relevant information.
  • Cooperates and is willing to assist others and accepts direction fromsupervisor.
