Virginia Tech’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital seeks a Community Practice Service Liaison to deliver exceptional client service, triage calls, and manage communications between clients and the care team. The Community Practice (CPRAC) Service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH)
provides high-quality primary veterinary care to clients within a 35-mile radius of the
veterinary school while providing clinical-year veterinary students with valuable
opportunities to participate in a primary care veterinary practice setting.
The Community Practice Service Liaison serves as the service’s primary point of contact
and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients, referring
veterinarians, faculty, staff, and students. Key responsibilities include answering and
triaging telephone calls, monitoring and responding to emails, scheduling appointments,
facilitating communication between clients and the veterinary care team, addressing
client concerns, and ensuring a positive client experience from initial contact through
follow-up.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Community Practice team and
contribute to the service’s mission of providing excellent primary care while supporting the
education of student doctors. The ideal candidate will enjoy developing and maintaining
relationships with long-term clients, demonstrate excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, be comfortable working with computers and electronic medical
records, and possess strong problem-solving, organization, prioritization, and customer
service skills. The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while
working collaboratively with a diverse team of veterinary professionals, students, and
clients.
