Responsibilities

• Patrols streets in a police car or on foot and checks premises.
• Responds to calls, determines nature of situations and takes appropriate action.
• Investigates traffic accidents and directs traffic as needed.
• Investigates crimes, questions witnesses, and gathers evidence for court.
• Issues citations, serves warrants, and transports suspects.
• Assists with emergency response activities and evacuations.
• Attends training to maintain certifications and skills.
• Maintains equipment in proper working order and provides information to visitors.
