Job summary

Grand Blanc Township Police Department seeks qualified police officers to uphold laws, protect life and property, and maintain public safety. Officers may serve in Community Policing, Investigations, or Road Patrol as needed to meet department goals.

Experienced officers may be eligible for adjusted starting wages and accelerated leave accrual per township policy. Applicants should be prepared for a rigorous training and shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States.
• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or 60 credits with 2 years with law enforcement experience.
• Certification or certifiable by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES).
• A valid Michigan driver’s license is required.
• Be in compliance with Public Act 78, 1935, IE 5/24, Compiled as amended through Act 155, 1986, IE 7/3.
• Possess the Health, Fitness, Physical and Psychological capacity required to perform as a Police Officer.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws and ordinances to protect lives and property.
• Patrols areas by vehicle, bike, or on foot.
• Investigate complaints, collect evidence and interview witnesses.
• Serve warrants and other legal processes; testify in court.
• Provide community policing and school resource duties.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with EMS.
