Job summary

Shalom Austin seeks a Community Relations Manager to advance its mission through relationship-building across Austin’s diverse communities and the Austin Jewish community. You will lead outreach, coalition-building, and program development to position the organization as a trusted regional partner.

The role emphasizes strategy, external relations, and collaboration with civic, business, faith-based, and cultural entities, including ACL and SXSW. A dynamic, field-based leader is sought.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years in community engagement or related fields.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading skills.
• Experience working with diverse lay leaders, volunteers, and colleagues.
• Understanding of committee management and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to build authentic relationships across diverse communities.
• Support lay leaders and engage them as liaisons to community leadership.
• Establish partnerships with local businesses, chambers, civic organizations, and cultural entities.
• Represent Shalom Austin in coalitions, forums, and meetings.
• Advance public affairs priorities through bridge-building and coalition work.
• Lead program development for dialogue and coalition-building.
