Food Bank For NYC seeks a Programs Coordinator to establish and support on-site emergency food programs with non-typical partners across NYC, including Campus Pantry and PantryRx. The role drives collaboration with schools, youth groups and healthcare partners to reach food insecure students and households.

The position supports program planning, partner engagement and fundraising efforts, while coordinating with internal teams to expand anti-hunger initiatives and ensure program impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, policy, organizing or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience providing program support.
• Comfortable working with diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups.
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison to schools, health care partners and CBOs for on-site food programs.
• Coordinate monthly operations, food ordering, delivery and budget tracking.
• Lead partner engagement opportunities and resource sharing with sites.
• Track grant expenditures, prepare award letters and funder reports.
• Maintain and update program data, prepare monthly performance reports.
• Support planning, site recruitment, training and onboarding with the team.
• Develop relationships to expand partnerships and collaborate with internal teams.
• Present at trainings, conferences, and community meetings as needed.
• Identify funding sources to support projects and coordinate site visits.

The non-typical partners that this position supports include K-12 schools, colleges, youth programs and healthcare partners. This includes Food Bank’s Campus Pantry Program that enables K-12 schools, youth organizations and colleges throughout NYC to provide nutritious food resources to food insecure students and their household members, as well as Food Bank’s PantryRx healthcare-based food distribution program. Students and youth from food insecure households are not able to perform their best. This position enables Food Bank to engage schools in providing meals to those student households in need.

As a role within Food Bank’s Programs Team the purpose of this position is to coordinate, establish and support on-site emergency food programs with non-typical partners in various communities of need throughout New York City. This includes Food Bank’s Campus Pantry Program that enables K-12 schools, youth organizations and colleges throughout NYC to provide nutritious food resources to food insecure students and their household members, as well as Food Bank’s PantryRx healthcare-based food distribution program. Students and youth from food insecure households are not able to perform their best. This position enables Food Bank to engage schools in providing meals to those student households in need. Beyond school-based locations, this role will support Food Bank’s PantryRx healthcare-based food distribution program in communities at high risk of food insecurity. Food Bank's work with healthcare providers addresses some of the key health issues that food insecure patients and their families face. The health care sector is becoming more aware of the impact between food insecurity and health outcomes, and Food Bank is working to deepen partnerships with this sector to improve food security and health. This position will also support integration and building partner capacity for additional anti-hunger efforts in Food Bank's suite of services (such as SNAP benefits outreach, financial empowerment, nutrition workshops, etc.), in collaboration with other internal teams.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison providing technical assistance to schools, health care partners, and other community-based organization (CBO) partners to support implementation of on-site food distribution programs, including but not limited to on-going technical assistance to a portfolio of sites, on-site support visits, grant monitoring, and internal collaborations across Food Bank team — Citywide Travel Required;
• Coordinate monthly operations at program locations, including logistics of ordering food, delivery, budget monitoring, and adherence to program goals and deliverables;
• Facilitate partner engagement strategies, such as leading in-person partner engagement opportunities, sharing food bank program offerings and resources, and coordinating partner learning opportunities;
• Coordinate grant compliance and reporting efforts, such as tracking grant expenditures, creating and distributing grant award letters, and organizing data and documentation needed for funder reports and updates;
• Maintain data and records – collect and process program documentation and client stories, update databases and prepare monthly performance reports of services provided;
• Support program planning and implementation, site recruitment, training and on-boarding, and program monitoring, in partnership with the Associate Director and other internal staff and teams;
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner staff and stakeholders to create, strengthen and expand partnership relationships;
• Support and coordinate working relationships between other internal Food Bank teams such as Community Nutrition, Research & Evaluation, Food Distribution, Public Affairs and Benefits Access to implement additional anti-hunger initiatives at existing partner sites;
• Serve as spokesperson/liaison to a variety of audiences including presenting at trainings, conferences, media events and community meetings;
• Support Food Bank efforts to identify and secure funding sources to support existing and potential projects;
• Coordinate with internal teams to identify sites for special visits (funder or media), schedule meetings and prepare site for successful demonstration of program impact;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in public health/policy, organizing or related field, and 2-3 years of experience with program support required;
• Position requires an individual who is comfortable and has demonstrated experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Solid understanding and experience in direct service program implementation or organizing as well as an ability to adapt and provide support to a variety of food insecure communities.
• Demonstrated commitment to being a viable and collaborative member of a team focused on ending hunger;
• Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.
• Excellent personal organization and ability to work both independently and in collaboration with various internal and external

The pay range for this role is between $29.58 - $31.11 hourly ($53k - $57k annually)
