Job summary

Access Services is seeking a CPS Supervisor to lead a team delivering Community Participation Supports for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. This role oversees DSPs, drives person-centered planning, and coordinates services across Lehighton, Pottsville, and Bartonsville with travel across the region.

The position is mobile and community-based, with potential office base in Bethlehem or Orwigsburg, and requires strong supervision, coaching, and collaboration with support teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, psychology, counseling, gerontology, social work or therapeutic recreation preferred.
  • ANADD, RBT, CNA or BCBA certification preferred if bachelor’s degree not met.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in social services highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of habilitation, behavior management, safety techniques and program planning.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and EHR systems.

Access Services is hiring a Community Participation Supports (CPS) Supervisor to lead a team that supports adults with intellectual disabilities and autism to build meaningful, connected lives in their communities. Community Participation Supports (CPS) is a person-centered service designed to help individuals develop interpersonal, communication, daily living, and work-related skills while exploring community connections, volunteer opportunities, educational experiences, and pathways to greater independence.

As a CPS Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality supports, supervise and develop Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and help ensure individuals achieve the goals outlined in their Support Plans. This role combines leadership, coaching, service coordination, and direct engagement with individuals and their support teams to create opportunities for growth, inclusion, and community participation.

Because CPS services are delivered where individuals live, learn, work, and engage in their communities, this is a highly mobile and community-based leadership position in .Theprimary service area includes Lehighton, Pottsville, and Bartonsville, and the supervisor will regularly travel throughout the region to support staff, oversee services, and build relationships with individuals and community partners. The position may be based out of our Bethlehem or Orwigsburg office, with a combination of community-based work, office work, and flexibility to support the needs of the program.

Essential Functions
  • Provide regular supervision to multiple DSPs in a variety of settings. Develop and support DSPs to further implement positive individual outcomes.
  • Engage DSPs in coaching conversations pertaining to career development and employee engagement.
  • Provide direct care and direct support hours to meet program and individuals’ needs, including but not limited to transferring, rotating, and changing individuals.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Effectively assist resolution of crisis and conflict situations, if needed.
  • Guide and discuss with staff members various methods of interventions and program planning for the individuals we serve and their families.
  • Assist in hiring and orienting new DSPs.
  • Conduct and/or attend case reviews and assessments on a regular basis.
  • Help review and ensure timely implementation of Person-Centered Support Plans and provide periodic assessments of services.
  • Identify and coordinate the goals/outcomes foreach individual being served in cooperation with the individual and his/her identified team.
  • Review service documentation on a regular basis, to help ensure quality compliance with the program and agency standards. Help ensure the highest quality of care to individuals that is helping them meet their needs.
  • Help ensure that our services and operations are in compliance with Access Services’ established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with representatives of state and local agencies and other professionals.
  • Report on any operational, staff or individual concerns according to Access Services’ established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate, timely documentation as required of the position.
  • Provide or prepare data such as statistical or financial information about the caseload.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field relating to the provision of services and intervention techniques.
  • Provide direct care and direct support hours to meet program and individuals’ needs, including but not limited to transferring, rotating, and changing individuals.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.
  • This position requires the ability to travel during the course of a normal workday to successfully carry out the expectations of this position including attending offsite meetings, providing services in the community, and providing service oversight and supervision.

The selected candidate must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination, and a driving history record.

Driving Requirements:
  • A valid US driver’s license for at least two years, not including time with permit.
  • No serious traffic convictions within the past three years. (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours. Vehicle must have valid registration and inspection stickers.
  • Valid auto insurance. You will be asked to provide proof that you are a covered driver on the policy.

Education:High school diploma or GEDrequired.Bachelor’sdegree in the following preferred field is highly desirable: education, special education, psychology, counseling, gerontology, social work, or therapeutic recreation.

Certification:ANADD, RBT, CNA, or BCBA certification is preferred if bachelor’s degree preference is not met.

Experience:Two years of supervisory experience in social services highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Caring and cooperative attitude toward others with a view of seeing the need of others as more important than his/her own.
  • Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting laws, rules and policies governing agency services. Sound oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge principles and methods of habilitation.
  • Knowledge of behavior management, safety techniques and program planning principles.
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies including Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and the electronic healthcare record system. Ability to navigate computers and work-related systems.
Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Work in program sites and the community routinely providing direct care and/or support with individual(s). Stand, sit, bend, or run by self, orto provideproper care and supervision with an individual. Able to move and stay with an individual to keep them safe, both in home environment and community, both at near and far distances, even when an individual may struggle to meet identified expectations. Able to assist an individual who has fallen, regardless of weight or size. Walk, climb stairs by self, orto providedirect care and/or support.Workin a standard office environment.Utilize desktop computer equipment on a daily basis.Able to lift or move items associated with sedentary work and light work (exert up to 20 lbs.) Travel to offsite locations and regional office locations if necessary.

Compensation, Schedule, and Pay

This hourly rate starts at $22/hour, with increases based on education and experience. The schedule is Monday-Friday during regularbusinesshours, with flexibility to meetprogram needs
