Job Responsibilities
  • Follow the competency document for specific job responsibilities.
  • Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers, adhering to Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Provide comprehensive and effective care to patients transported by McLeod Heart Network Ambulance.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with healthcare facilities, both written and spoken.
  • Follow all McLeod and South Carolina EMS DHEC policies and protocols.
  • Attend all required meetings and educational sessions.
  • Keep certifications and licenses current as required by the role.
  • Complete documentation accurately, both written and electronic, according to policy.
  • Ensure ambulances and medical equipment are stocked and cleaned per policy.
  • Identify and respond quickly to potentially life-threatening situations.
Qualifications / Training

Must be able to use electronic documentation systems to enter patient transport information.

Minimum of 3 years experience in a busy 911 system.

Licenses / Certifications / Education
  • Current South Carolina Paramedic Certification.
  • National Registered Paramedic certification.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
  • ACLS, PALS (or equivalent), and BLS certifications are required.
Preferred Certifications
  • FP-C, CCP-C, or CCEMT-P certifications are preferred.
