Job summary

Wellstar Health System in the United States seeks a seasoned Paramedic to provide in-home visits under the Virtual Care at Home program, supervised by the Medical Director.

You will work with the healthcare team to assess, treat, and coordinate care, respond to emergencies, and support discharge planning and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paramedic certification and related licenses required.
• License requirements include ACLS, BLS, and PARA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive in-home visits for patients in the Virtual Care at Home program.
• Administer care per state protocols including medication administration, IV setup, and vital signs checks.
• Educate patients and families about disease state, discharge plan; coordinate with care team for overall plan.
• Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to treatments to providers and care teams.

Job Summary:

Provides comprehensive in-home community paramedic visits to patients in the Virtual Care at Home program under thesupervision of the Medical Director. Functions as a member of the healthcare team that examines and provides care topatients on a daily basis. Respond to home emergencies and conduct an assessment and care for patients should theyacutely decompensate.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Conduct comprehensive in-home visits to patients who are enrolled in the Virtual Care at Home program.Administers patients care that is consistent with state protocols including but not limited to medicationadministration, IV setup and administration, phlebotomy, dressing changes, and checking vital signs.Conducts patient education to the patient and family about their disease state, condition, and discharge plan.Coordinates with the care team for the care plan of the patient including discharge appointments, medicalsupply needs, medication needs, and other community resource referrals.Observes, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and/or significantincidents back to the provider and care team.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma / GED General

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
• PARA - Paramedic

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 5 years paramedic services Required orMinimum 2 years Virtual Care Emergency Preferred
