Job Title: Part-Time Community Outreach Specialist
Company: Dalcom Engineering
Location: Galena, MD
Compensation: $16-22/hr.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Part-Time Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team (10-15 hours/week). The ideal candidate will be passionate about building relationships within the community, promoting our organization's mission, and creating meaningful partnerships. This role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders.
  2. Assist in educating the community about the HUBZone program and the overall benefits it provides.
  3. Participate in community events and meetings as a representative of the company.
  4. Participate in job fairs held by local schools and organizations to promote employment opportunities.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of outreach strategies to engage the community.
  6. Identify and pursue opportunities for collaborations within the HUBZone area that benefit future growth.
  7. Promote the organization's programs and services through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community presentations.
  8. Work with other members of the team to create and distribute promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and digital content.
  9. Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate records of community interactions and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or related coursework in communications, marketing, social work, or a related field preferred.
  2. Must be able to work 40 hours per month.
  3. Previous experience in community outreach, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  4. Experience understanding community dynamics.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  10. Strong commitment to community empowerment.
