Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York is seeking a Recruitment & Outreach Specialist for the Career Access Program. You will engage diverse communities, deliver program presentations, and raise awareness about vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities.

The role focuses on partnerships with community boards, nonprofits, city agencies, and other organizations to recruit participants, expand reach, and support enrollment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or 60 college credits) or high school diploma with two years’ outreach experience.
• Experience in counseling and placement services preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to diverse community-based organizations, nonprofits, and city agencies to promote the Career Access Program.
• Deliver presentations about the Career Access Program to audiences, including community boards, nonprofit conferences, and agency events.
• Distribute marketing materials to promote the program and its services.
• Coordinate and participate in community events, career fairs, and information sessions to recruit potential program participants.
• Build relationships with community partners and local service organizations to expand program reach.
• Identify and engage individuals with disabilities who may benefit from the program’s services.
• Work closely with the Program Manager and team to ensure coordinated recruitment, enrollment, and service delivery.
