Office of Congresswoman Norma Torres seeks a Field Representative for its Ontario, California office to serve as the Member's community representative on issues and programs within the assigned portfolio.

The role collaborates with federal, state, and local governments, and acts as liaison to agencies, ensuring effective communication with constituents and staff while handling a flexible schedule including long hours, nights, or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Member's community representative, meeting constituents and organizations in the district.
• Inform the Member and District Director about district, state, and federal issues and policies.
• Develop and implement outreach events for congressional district recess periods.
• Prepare materials for district recess, coordinating with staff on memos and agendas.
• Staff the Member in the district, including event prep, notes, and follow-up items.
• Collaborate on casework and monitor scheduled district meetings with constituents.
• Train and supervise staff assistants to handle office duties and inquiries.
• Maintain up-to-date files on portfolio cases and important information.
