Zusammenfassung

CAIR-LA invites a Community Canvasser to join our Development team in Anaheim, CA. The role focuses on direct community outreach in the San Fernando Valley, building relationships with local partners, and connecting individuals with CAIR-LA services. The position supports immigration legal outreach and coordination with our legal team.

Part-time, up to 30 hours per week, with some evening/weekend events. Requires a valid driver’s license and travel across the San Fernando Valley; remote work in

Qualifikationen

• Experience in community outreach, canvassing, organizing, nonprofit engagement, and volunteer coordination.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills in person and by phone with a high degree of professionalism.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to build relationships with community members, organizations, faith-based institutions, businesses, and local partners.
• Interest in CAIR's civil rights, immigrant rights, and community advocacy.
• Ability to communicate CAIR-LA's programs and services clearly.
• Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with other CAIR-LA teams.
• Availability to participate in occasional evening and weekend community events.
• Creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, productively, and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
• Experience working with diverse communities and individuals from varied backgrounds.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, SharePoint, social media, and cloud apps.

Aufgaben

• Build and strengthen community relationships with local partners throughout the Valley and represent CAIR-LA at events.
• Conduct immigration legal outreach and connect community members with CAIR-LA's legal team.
• Create and distribute outreach materials and track partnerships, activities, and referrals.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and community events.
• Support general duties such as answering phones and weekly outreach.
