Summary

The Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation is seeking a highly motivated full-time employee to assist with its vibrant and growing Community. This role will be critical in supporting OCP’s global Community of members, including data center operators, manufacturers, systems integrators, component manufacturers, and ODMs. This role will require a focus on supporting OCP Staff, the OCP Community Projects, volunteers and members, as well as assisting the logistics and processes of the contribution process. We are looking for someone who:

  1. Is enthusiastic and curious – someone who is proactive and creative.
  2. Collaborative in nature – can work alone, with minimal supervision, but ultimately is someone who can work well within a diverse team, providing value and being accountable to their responsibilities.
  3. Understands the industry from a high level perspective, but has strong technical acumen.
  4. Possesses a passion for open and driving community engagement within the technology sector.

This is a full-time position which pays a competitive base salary based on experience and location, as well as a quarterly bonus based on results. The OCP Foundation is an all-remote workforce. Responsibilities

Community Management:

  1. Support OCP members in an operational capacity, ensuring they have the tools and resources to be successful.
  2. Help recruit new members to the OCP Community, including end-users, systems integrators, ODMs, and component manufacturers.
  3. Assist the Community Director in the development and execution of strategies to grow OCP’s Global Community.
  4. Own the various processes for membership onboarding and engagement.
  5. Assist the Community Director with the progression and alignment of current membership to best-suited membership levels.

Contribution Management:

  1. Serve as the operations lead for OCP Contribution Process by ensuring compliance, managing approvals and publishing specifications, whitepapers, design files, etc. created by our Community.
  2. Ensure that all OCP contributions follow the correct legal processes in accordance with the Open Source Initiative (OSI) or Open Web Foundation (OWF) licensing standards currently in use by OCP (copyright & patent rights, granted claims, etc.).
  3. Work with OCP Staff to fulfill successful team KPIs related to OCP Contributions.
  4. Work closely with the Director of Technical Programs to optimize the Contribution Process to best serve contributing members and stakeholders.

Volunteer Leaders Engagement & Support:

  1. Support OCP volunteers with Membership and Community details, ensuring they have the support, tools and resources to succeed in their volunteer roles.
  2. Provide ongoing support to volunteers throughout the duration of their leadership role.
  3. Engage with global members to understand their needs and identify opportunities for expanding their involvement in OCP.
Qualifications
  1. Proven experience in project management, ideally in the data center hardware and IT vendor landscape or related fields. Technical knowledge is preferred, but not required.
  2. Familiarity and passion for open-source communities is preferred, but not required.
  3. Familiarity using open source agreements is preferred, but not required.
  4. Effective use of IT tools such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Google Business Apps.
  5. Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and career sectors.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  7. Experience with global teams and a flexible work schedule is a strong plus.
  8. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  9. Occasional travel required.
Pay range

$80,000 to $100,000 per year.
