Job summary

OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center in McAlester, OK seeks a Medical Oncologist for a community-based faculty role. The position combines outpatient cancer care with academic appointment and opportunities to participate in trials and multidisciplinary discussions within Oklahoma’s NCI-designated center.

You will join a team dedicated to expanding access to oncology services, training learners, and delivering evidence-based care while maintaining strong ties to the Stephenson Cancer Center network.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
• Eligible for medical licensure and DEA registration in Oklahoma.
• Strong knowledge of cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, and longitudinal care.
• Academic credentials commensurate with rank (Assistant/Associate/Professor).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient oncology care for adults with solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematology in a community setting.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care.
• Collaborate with radiation oncology, infusion services, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in tumor boards and align with evidence-based cancer care pathways.
• Support access to advanced therapies and clinical trials through the main campus network.
• Contribute to quality improvement and growth of oncology services in southeastern Oklahoma.
