Job summary

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) seeks two Nursing Assistants to support our Community Programs. You will help maintain the medical and clinical status of individuals served, schedule appointments, and provide direct support in a residence and community setting.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, AMAP certification, 6-12 months experience with developmental disabilities in a DSP role, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 6-12 months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a DSP role.
• AMAP Certificate required.
• CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration trainings required.
• Honest, reliable, dependable and professional at all times.

Responsibilities

• Schedule medical and clinical appointments and accompany individuals to these appointments.
• Assist other staff in performing the duties of the Direct Support Professionals.
• Provide Person Centered Supports as outlined in the NYS DSP Code of Ethics.
• Regularly review medication records for completeness and accuracy and report any irregularities.
• Drive individuals in agency vehicles and accompany them to medical/clinical appointments or to other activities and programs.
• Maintain medical records and ensure medications, equipment and supplies are stored securely.
