Nampa School District is seeking a Community and Media Relations Specialist to support the district’s mission by enhancing positive awareness of the district, its schools, and students. The role focuses on building relationships with the community and media, developing communications plans, and promoting district initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in community relations/public relations or related field.
• Prior experience in public education preferred.

Responsabilités

• Acts as communication liaison between media, community organizations, and the District.
• Represents the District on community boards, city committees, and local service clubs.
• Writes news releases for local outlets (newspapers, TV, radio).
• Supports social media accounts and provides content for district pages and schools’ social channels.
• Develops, implements, and monitors a comprehensive internal/external communication plan.
• Researches district programs and communicates positive outcomes to the community via articles and newsletters.
• Publicizes district initiatives and events sponsored by schools; handles emergency procedures.
• Responds promptly to community inquiries and concerns to improve relations.
• Speaks at staff, parent, and community meetings as needed.
• Provides PR counsel to district and building staff.
• Keeps up-to-date with policies and new communication technologies.
