Community Manager, Radical Ventures

Full-time, San Francisco

Radical Ventures is seeking a Community Manager to join our growing team of AI and startup specialists. As Radical's Community Manager, you will play a central role in defining our engagement with AI industry leaders, academia, and startup ecosystems. Your primary focus will be nurturing and expanding the Radical AI Founders Masterclass Community—a global network of 2,000+ researchers and alumni. You will design year-round programming, foster peer-to-peer connections, and drive engagement to solidify Radical’s position as a leader in the AI community. Additionally, you will support Radical’s events in key AI hubs, building programs to connect key AI founders with the Radical investment team.

Responsibilities
1) Radical AI Founders Masterclass Community
  • Support delivery of October flagship programming, including driving participation, onboarding new community members, assisting with delivery of livestream speaker series
  • Oversee the Radical AI Founders Masterclass Community, ensuring active participation and value delivery through curated content, discussions, and resources.
  • Develop and execute a year-round engagement strategy, including virtual events, workshops, and mentorship programs.
  • Monitor community health metrics (participation, satisfaction, growth) and adjust strategies to optimize engagement.
  • Foster relationships with members to identify advocates, thought leaders, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Manage community Slack channel and leverage other digital tools to scale and maintain community engagement.
  • Plan and manage local and global meet-ups, roundtables, and networking events for community members
  • Amplify community achievements and stories across Radical’s content channels.
2) Events & Ecosystem Building
  • Work closely with Radical’s Velocity Operations, Marketing, and Investment teams to align community initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Support Radical events in priority AI ecosystems (e.g., Bay Area, Toronto, New York and London), coordinating with Radical investors and partners to create compelling dinners and talks.
  • Identify partnerships with academic institutions, industry groups, and AI influencers to expand Radical’s community reach.
3) Peer-to-Peer Network Development
  • Build and maintain a peer-to-peer network for Radical’s portfolio founders and functional leaders (marketing, GTM, product, talent) to share insights and best practices.
  • Create forums, Slack channels, or other platforms to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in community management, event planning, or ecosystem development, preferably within tech, venture capital, or AI sectors.
  • Community Building Expertise: Proven track record in developing and managing large-scale communities and driving engagement through creative programming.
  • Event Execution: Strong organizational skills with experience planning virtual and in-person events.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities; adept at crafting compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with community platforms (e.g., Slack, Discord, MailChimp), CRM tools (e.g., Affinity), and analytics software.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
  • Passion for AI: Curiosity about AI advancements and a genuine interest in supporting AI innovators.
  • Autonomy & Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees or certifications in community management or related fields are a plus.
