Stonemark located in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Manager to assist the Regional Manager in optimizing the performance of the community. This role involves overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with policies, and managing financial operations to maximize returns.
The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree and experience in a managerial or supervisory role, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to manage budgets and staff.
Assist the Regional Manager in maintaining the physical asset and maximizing financial returns in accordance with owner objectives. Direct and coordinate activities involving office staff responsible for showing prospective tenants apartments, explaining occupancy terms, renting or leasing apartments, collecting security deposits, and completing lease forms outlining conditions and terms of occupancy.
Typical activities include, but are not limited to, the following duties. Other assignments may be required.
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or three to five years of related experience as an on‑site Assistant Manager. ARM, CAM, or RAM certification preferred. A real‑estate license may be required in some states. Experience in preparing budgets and staff management is desirable.
Excellent people skills; strong team player with good communication skills and ability to solve problems, manage time, and set priorities. Flexibility, detail orientation, and organization are required. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, inventory, and internet software is essential.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Duties include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
Working knowledge of computers, finance, management, and marketing. Capable of preparing and analyzing budgets/financial forecasts and working within a budget.
