Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of skilled technicians. You will oversee maintenance of mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling equipment, and drive preventive and predictive programs to maximize uptime.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams, enforce OSHA safety standards, manage spare parts inventory, and identify improvements to equipment performance while maintaining detailed maintenance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience leading maintenance teams.
• Associate degree or technical certification in related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment including mills and welders.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Enforce OSHA safety protocols and company standards.
• Coordinate timely emergency repairs and manage spare parts inventory.
• Identify process improvements to enhance equipment performance.

This position requires strong technical expertise, effective leadership skills, and the ability to drive preventive maintenance initiatives that support uptime and production goals.You will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and maintain seamless operational performance. This is an on-site role located in the Phoenix, AZ area.This role is perfect for someone who excels in a hands-on manufacturing environment, enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical challenges, and thrives when leading and developing a skilled technical team.What You'll DoSupervises and mentors maintenance technicians to ensure efficient and effective daily operations.Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains plant equipment, including mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling machinery.Develops and implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.Enforces safety protocols and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.Responds to equipment failures and coordinates timely emergency repairs to support production requirements.Monitors spare parts inventory and coordinates procurement activities to maintain critical stock levels.Identifies and implements process improvements that enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and regulatory compliance documentation.Collaborates with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.Promotes a culture of safety and healthy work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Who You Are5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within steel manufacturing, metal processing, or other heavy industrial environments.2+ years of supervisory experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing setting.Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.Working knowledge of welding and fabrication processes preferred.Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety best practices.Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and effectively communicate across multiple departments.What You'll GetZekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
