Job summary

Hope Haven, Inc. in Le Mars, IA is seeking a Lead Human Services professional to guide Community Living teams. This full-time role includes day, evening hours, and every other weekend, focusing on staff development and creating a warm, engaging environment for clients and families.

You will supervise staff, assist with program implementation, and ensure coordination of services and health needs. Strong decision-making, reliability, and transportation are required for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer literate or have basic knowledge of computer skills.
• Ability to pass health assessment at time of hire.
• Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing an environment that maximizes each client’s choice and ability in daily routines and living skills.
• Develop schedules making adjustments as indicated by programming needs.
• Supervise and evaluate staff according to their performance.
• Review all staff expenses prior to submission.
• Assist with development and implementation of person-centered services, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Assist with initial client orientation and assess skills prior to 30-day staffing.
• Provide support and training to individuals as identified in their service plan.
• Ensure health needs are cared for by arranging necessary appointments.
• Promote positive communication and teamwork.
• On call for concerns and emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures and promote safety among employees and persons served.
• Cover extra shifts when needed and accommodate school delays/dismissals.
