Job summary

The Anoka County Library is hiring a part-time Library Assistant to serve the Blaine community on-site. You will help patrons with library cards, guide them to resources, and manage circulation, payments, and technology support across the system. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service in a diverse, community-centered environment.

Work hours are scheduled with shifts including evenings and weekends; a strong emphasis on accuracy, courtesy, and teamwork. Progression opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma.
• 1 year customer service or library experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for all by providing excellent customer service.
• Perform circulation duties including checkout, returns, assessing damages, running reports and routing materials.
• Assist library patrons with requests and provide assistance with technology and basic research support.
• Organize, maintain and ensure collection tidiness.
• Process materials, link electronic records and ensure efficient movement of materials across the county.
• Handle cash including processing payments and reconciling the cash drawer.
