Job summary

AACC Dance Company in Arnold, MD is seeking part-time Community Interpreting Instructors to teach in our Community Interpreter Certificate program. Instructors will lead evening classes and help students build core interpreting skills for WLS-325 and WLS-326.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), be proficient in at least two languages, complete a 40-hour Train the Trainer course, and have interpreting and teaching experience in-person and online.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (masters degree preferred).
• Proficiency in at least two languages (ACTFL Advanced High or equivalent).
• 40-hour Train the Trainer course with department funds to cover costs.
• Professional simultaneous and/or sequential interpreting experience.
• Adult education or teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats.

Responsibilities

• Teach WLS-325 and WLS-326 (Foundations of Community Interpreting Parts 1 & 2).
• Assess and record student progress and attendance.
• Meet deadlines for submitting grades and other administrative tasks.
• Participate in department professional learning events.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking instructors to teach evening classes in Arnold, or Hanover, MD.

Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to give a short teaching demonstration. Please mention your schedule availability and location preferences in your cover letter.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Instructors will teach WLS-325 and WLS-326 (Foundations of Community Interpreting Parts 1 & 2).

In addition to teaching, instructors are responsible for:

• assessing and recording student progress and attendance

• participating in department professional learning events
