Job Description

Community in Schools Coordinator – Madison Elementary School
200‑Day Contract (not based on Boone County Schools Pay Scale). Salary: $48,960 for 200 days. Salary inquiries directed to Deanna Wellman, Coordinator of Payroll.
Reports to: Dr. Amy Pritt.

Position Summary

The Coordinator serves as a liaison between Madison Elementary School, families, community organizations, businesses, and service agencies to strengthen partnerships that support student success. Responsibilities include developing initiatives, connecting students and families with resources, organizing volunteers, and promoting programs that enhance attendance, behavior, academic achievement, and overall well‑being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, nonprofits, faith‑based organizations, and community agencies.
  • Coordinate community involvement activities that support the educational mission of the school.
  • Connect students and families with available community resources and support services.
  • Assist in identifying barriers to student success and work collaboratively with school staff and community partners to address those needs.
  • Coordinate volunteers, mentors, and community programs within the school.
  • Assist with planning and organizing family engagement activities, school events, and outreach initiatives.
  • Promote regular school attendance and positive student engagement through community partnerships.
  • Maintain appropriate records, reports, and documentation related to community involvement activities.
  • Collaborate with school administration, faculty, counselors, and support staff to identify student and family needs.
  • Seek opportunities for donations, grants, and in‑kind support that benefit students and school programs.
  • Represent the school at community meetings and events as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Experience coordinating programs, volunteers, or community outreach is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software applications.
Physical Demands

Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, lifting light materials, and traveling within the community as necessary.

Terms of Employment
  • 200‑Day Contract
  • Salary is not based on Boone County Schools Pay Scale.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated by Dr. Amy Pritt in accordance with Boone County Schools policies and procedures.
