Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment across all community areas in Radford, VA. The role operates every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, with pay ranging from $15 to $17 per hour, and reports to the Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities include daily housekeeping tasks, following safety protocols, cleaning floors and carpets, upkeeping resident rooms, laundering linens, and assisting in setting up common areas.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• High school graduate or equivalent credentials preferred.
• Minimum of one year of housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions with established procedures as assigned.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and disinfecting.
• Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Clean and polish furnishings in hallways, stairways and elevator where applicable.
• Clean resident rooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing bathrooms, mirrors and pictures.
• Collect all trash from rooms, offices, lounges, and bathrooms daily.
• Clean walls, windows and baseboards; keep windows, cabinets, doors and mirrors smudge-free.
• Assist in setting up dining room, activity room, and living room as necessary.
• Report needed repairs to maintenance or Executive Director.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment and storage areas tidy and safe.
• Respond to residents’ needs as requested.
• Launder community linens as needed.
• Inform Executive Director of supply needs in a timely manner.
• Report accidents/incidents to the Executive Director on day of occurrence.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed; protect resident confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned
