Role Overview

This Community Health Worker (CHW) role is a hybrid position involving work at a McKesson distribution center (DC) and within the community. The CHW functions include:

  • Serving as a liaison and providing cultural mediation between the healthcare system, social services, and the community.
  • Assisting community members in accessing needed services.
  • Building community and system capacity through outreach, navigation, education, advocacy, and participation in clinical screenings.
  • Engaging with employees to assess and address non-clinical healthcare needs, conducting educational sessions, and organizing volunteer events.
  • Meeting with local organizations to enhance McKesson's community presence and develop supportive programs.

The candidate must be willing to travel locally and be flexible with hours to accommodate distribution center shifts.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma; completion of an approved CHW training program and certification preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Community Health Worker.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to speak with healthcare providers and professionals.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with community outreach and health education.
  • Strong oral presentation skills.
  • Completion of a CHW training program and certification is preferable.
Working Conditions
  • Environment includes office and warehouse settings within distribution centers in OH & KY.
  • Travel is approximately 75% to locations in Ohio and Kentucky.
Physical Requirements
  • Based at the distribution center, with in-person work and travel involved.
  • Must be willing to travel to Gahanna, Urbancrest, Jeffersonville (OH), and Louisville (KY).
Compensation and Benefits

McKesson offers a competitive total rewards package, including base pay ranging from $55,400 to $92,300, bonuses, and incentives. Pay is aligned with market and regulatory standards. Benefits details are available upon request.
