Main Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of this position is to provide in-home environmental assessments and education with the aim of reducing the impact of lead and other toxins on vulnerable low-income children for the Childhood Lead and Asthma Prevention Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  2. Experience: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
  2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
