The Cecil County Health Department is seeking a community-focused outreach staff member to raise awareness of health services and disease prevention across county residents.
The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in health information outreach, with substitution options described in the notes. You will work to connect individuals with programs and resources to improve public health.
The main purpose of this position is to assist the Cecil County Health Department's (CCHD) mission of promoting, protecting, and advancing the health of the county's citizens. This position will provide outreach services to the community and populations of focus to increase awareness of and access to health services and programs of the health department.
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community.
1. Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
