Position Details

Location: MDH, Allegany County Health Department, Cumberland, MD

Grade: 19

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide school nursing services in the absence of the regular nurse
  • Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate student needs
  • Administer first aid and medications
  • Make referrals for advanced treatment
  • Perform health screenings and provide health counseling and crisis interventions
  • Document interactions and promote health education and wellness
  • Maintain accurate immunization records to meet state regulations
Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution

Experience: None required, but substitutions are allowed as specified

Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license from Maryland State Board of Nursing
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license in Maryland (if required)
Additional Requirements

Provide a reachable telephone number; be available for duties requiring a vehicle

Selection Process
