Qualifications

Job Requirements

A clinically competent registered nurse who works collaboratively with community partners to provide essential healthcare services to diverse populations by effectively utilizing the nursing process. This is an exciting Community Health role, in the Bel Air, Aberdeen, MD area.

This is a great opportunity for nurses who love teaching, connecting with people, and making a difference. They’ll be out in the community doing BP screenings, diabetes education, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, and having meaningful case-management-style conversations.

Responsible for conducting comprehensive health screenings, patient assessments, implementation of preventive health measures, and delivering tailored health education and care within various community settings. This role supports system-wide community health and wellness outreach initiatives, including those under the Community Outreach and Health Improvement program, to promote overall public health and well-being. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to engage with patients of all ages, races, genders, and ethnic backgrounds, ensuring culturally sensitive and equitable care delivery.

Work Experience

Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Bachelors preferred. Currently licensed as R.N in the state of Maryland and CPR certified.

Work Orientation & Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical-surgical or adult clinical specialty area. One year in experience in community outreach or public health preferred. Working knowledge of age specific and adult learning principles. Must successfully complete Hospital and Community Outreach and Health Improvement orientation and competencies.

  • Ability to (m) Nurse must be available to work a minimum of two (2) events per month. Depending upon the number of events and size of the pool, additional shifts may or may not be available one event per quarter should be a weekend event.
