In Flight, Inc. is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to work one-on-one with children and adults with developmental disabilities in Highland and New Paltz, NY.

The role supports home and community life, helping individuals build independence and life skills in a flexible, rewarding environment. As a per diem DSP, you will teach tasks, assist in goal achievement, and plan community activities while collaborating with a caring team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• No experience required; one year of related care is preferred.
• Must be empathetic with good teamwork and communication skills.

We’re looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact.

Cases are in Highland and New Paltz. This is a per diem position.

What you will be doing:

• Teaching new tasks
• Assisting in the creation and achievement of life goals
• Planning activities within the community
• Working independently while collaborating with other team members

E XPERIENCE:

• Working with Individuals that have IDD preferred but not required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/GED is required; an associate degree is preferred.
• No experience required; one year of related experience is preferred. Working as caregivers or with adults with developmental disabilities.
• Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
• Be able to attend mandatory trainings as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
• USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE -Mileage reimbursement available
