Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is looking for a Basketball Gym Monitor to supervise the basketball gym and ensure participant safety. The role supports family, youth and community programs under the guidance of the Membership Director at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA.

The ideal candidate is at least 18, with some related experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a current CPR/AED certification. This on-site role emphasizes safety, customer service, and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• One year or more of related experience preferred.
• Strong human relations and conflict management skills.
• Current state approved CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the gym and surrounding areas to ensure safety and welfare of users.
• Reports and monitors all mechanical and equipment problems.
• Sets up equipment and returns equipment to storage.
• Enforces rules, regulations and policies with tact.
• Maintains proper documentation and reports incidents and accidents.
• Assists other staff and answers inquiries from participants.
• Abide by and enforce Metro Atlanta YMCA’s Keeping Kids Safe Policies and Safety Protocols (COVID-19).
• Other duties as assigned.
