About the Role

As the Community Growth Manager, you will take charge of Musaffa’s community engagement and outreach, driving user growth through strategic partnerships, referral programs, and ambassador initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a track record of building thriving communities and contributing to subscription growth. You will have the opportunity to directly impact Musaffa’s success and scalability while fostering lasting relationships within our community.

This is a high-impact role that requires dedication and a results-driven mindset. While the work hours are flexible, candidates should be ready to put in the extra effort when needed, particularly during major events, initiatives, or critical growth phases. Given the global nature of our community, this role requires flexibility in work hours to engage with users across various time zones and meet critical deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Internal Community Engagement

  • Design and implement a community growth strategy to expand and deepen user engagement across platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Reddit, WhatsApp, and community forums.
  • Host interactive events such as webinars, live Q&A sessions, AMAs (Ask Me Anything), and workshops to foster a dynamic and engaged community.
  • Encourage user advocacy by promoting user-generated content, including testimonials, success stories, and investment tips.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for community members, responding to inquiries, gathering feedback, and improving the user experience.
  • Use data-driven insights to track engagement metrics, analyze community health, and continuously optimize strategies.

2. External Outreach and Partnerships

  • Cultivate strategic relationships with influencers, thought leaders, and organizations in the Islamic finance and ethical investing sectors.
  • Represent Musaffa at industry events, virtual summits, and conferences to boost brand visibility and forge new partnerships.
  • Collaborate with external partners on co-branded campaigns, including guest webinars, joint articles, and educational content.
  • Leverage partnerships to amplify the reach of Musaffa Academy and attract new users to the platform.

3. Sales-Related Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation and Nurturing: Identify and nurture high-potential leads from community interactions and outreach.
  • Upselling and Cross-Selling: Promote premium features and higher-tier subscriptions by addressing specific user needs during events and interactions.
  • Referral and Ambassador Programs:
  • Design and manage referral programs that incentivize existing subscribers to invite others.
  • Develop and lead an ambassador program to empower super-users who actively promote Musaffa within their networks.
  • Collaborate with ambassadors to produce user-generated content, testimonials, and case studies.
  • B2B Opportunities: Collaborate with institutions such as universities and mosques to offer bulk subscription packages, creating custom pricing models for organizational clients.

4. Metrics and Insights

  • Track key performance metrics such as community growth, referral program success, subscription upgrades, and retention rates.
  • Provide actionable insights to product and marketing teams to refine strategies and improve user engagement.

What You’ll Bring to Musaffa

Experience and Expertise:

  • 10+ years of experience in community management, external outreach, or related roles, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or education-focused organizations.
  • Proven success in designing and scaling referral and ambassador programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and manage online communities and build strategic partnerships.

Education:

  • Preferred Degrees: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred GPA: 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), reflecting strong academic performance.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Expertise in managing community platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp, Reddit, Discourse).
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience tracking and optimizing engagement and growth metrics.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse audiences and build relationships.
  • Familiarity with hosting and moderating online events, webinars, and live sessions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Pre-existing relationships with influencers or organizations in Islamic finance or ethical investing.
  • Experience with ambassador management tools and referral program software.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools to monitor community and campaign performance.
