Job summary

Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Virginia seeks a Development Officer to grow philanthropic support from faith-based, corporate, and community donors. This externally facing role requires regular in-person engagement to secure financial and in-kind contributions.

You will plan agency-wide fundraising events, coordinate in-kind drives, and build partnerships with local churches and schools. Proficiency with donor databases and Microsoft Office is essential to track giving and nurture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 1 year of related fundraising experience.
• Proven ability to secure financial and in-kind donations.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Experience coordinating events and donor recognition.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with schools, faith, corporate, community groups to market CCC programs and solicit support.
• Plans and executes community fundraising events with sponsorships.
• Develops in-kind donation drives and partnerships with local businesses.
• Mantains donor and volunteer data in the agency's donor database.
• Coordinates donor acknowledgments and follow-ups to strengthen relationships.
• Ensures donations are handled and distributed per agency policies.
• Cultivates relationships with parishes, Catholic schools and faith groups to expand support.
• Represents the Agency professionally in the community.
