Summary of Job Duties: Come join our dynamic therapy, community fitness, and sports performance family as a part-time community fitness instructor! The Community Fitness Center Instructor implements best practice fitness programming for community fitness members based on their needs and the community at large. Individualized fitness and aquatic training is encouraged in collaboration with the fitness manager to ensure optimal and safe exercise. The instructor also demonstrates effective communication skills while maintaining positive working relationships with co-workers, fitness members, management, and various stakeholders.

Skills include but are not limited to: aquatic instruction, aquatic equipment, pool safety, and land-based instruction and gym equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science
  • Appropriate National Fitness Certification
  • 1 Year of Exercise Instruction Experience
  • Experience in aquatic exercise and instruction
  • Specialty Exercise Certifications

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate group fitness programs, including communication with instructors and members about schedule changes and substitutes.
  • Maintain and distribute monthly group fitness schedules.
  • Develop and present lectures on fitness and wellness topics.
  • Assist with fitness center membership recruitment and manage the membership database.
  • Maintain supply records, monitor inventory, and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain activity databases for wellness and fitness programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Information: $25/Hr
