Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools' Community Education is seeking enthusiastic fitness instructors to lead adult group classes across a range of formats. The schedule is flexible, and instructors may propose new classes in areas such as group fitness, yoga, Pilates, barre, cardio, and mindfulness-based movement.

This stipend-based role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, clear instruction, and adapting workouts for varying abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching group fitness, wellness, or movement-based programs.
• Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
• Knowledge of safe exercise practices and injury prevention.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt instruction for varying participant needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead safe, engaging, and inclusive fitness classes for adult participants.
• Create class outlines, routines, and instructional materials appropriate for participant skill levels.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and provide modifications to accommodate various abilities and fitness levels.
• Foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor participant safety and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with participants and Community Education staff.
• Maintain professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality.
• Ensure equipment and instructional spaces are used safely and responsibly.
