Job summary

The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas in Hampton seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior facility areas under supervision. You will contribute to a welcoming, safe environment for members and staff while following maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.

Key duties include detailed cleaning, routine maintenance, and participating in trainings required for staff. Candidates must meet physical requirements and complete background checks to support youth development

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Ability to interact positively with people of all ages and abilities.
• Able to work unsupervised with attention to detail and adherence to maintenance procedures.
• Background in commercial level cleaning preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification due within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed cleaning of assigned areas using provided chemicals and tools.
• Assist in routine maintenance and small repairs as directed.
• Maintain records and forms related to duties.
• Follow Emergency Operations Plan and safety procedures.
• Support YMCA membership efforts and participate in staff trainings.
