Job summary

YMCA of Portsmouth seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to support a clean, welcoming facility for members and guests. You will perform cleaning tasks, sanitation, and basic maintenance to keep areas tidied and functional while assisting with set ups for events and activities.

The role emphasizes reliability, attention to safety, and adherence to YMCA sanitation standards to preserve a healthy environment for the community.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Abides by all YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary service to members and prospective members, demonstrating good human relation skills and a willingness to help maintain building and grounds.
• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
• May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities.
