Job description

Location: Duluth, MN and Superior, WI (Hybrid)

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: Regular work hours are scheduled flexibly within the Monday to Friday business day. Periodic evening and weekend hours are required to support participants and coordinate events, with flexibility to adjust weekly schedule to ensure 40 hours.

Wage and Benefits: $20.26/hour. Generous paid time off (vacation, earned sick and safe time, holidays), flexible work arrangements, health insurance (employer pays 80%)

Position Summary:

Mentor North is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate youth and support their families through one-on-one mentorship and community engagement.

The Community Experience Coordinator creates opportunities for youth, families, and mentors to engage safely and meaningfully with their community and with one another. Grounded in ongoing dialogue with participants, this role ensures that activities reflect the interests, needs, and preferences of those we serve. It also expands organizational capacity by building and managing a more inclusive and accessible volunteer program.

The ideal candidate:

• Enjoys building relationships with youth, volunteers, families, and community partners
• Thrives on connecting people with a diverse array of community-based activities and experiences
• Is comfortable meeting people where they are, whether at community spaces or online
• Communicates proactively and responsively through in-person, phone, email, text, and digital channels
• Attends to the details that keep projects moving forward and people connected
• Can work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

While the intention is for this position to remain permanent, continuation beyond 2027 will depend on available funding.
