The Arc of Central Alabama in Birmingham seeks a Community Experience Coordinator to oversee Community Day Services, ensuring effective service delivery and program management. Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in a human services field related to intellectual disabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supervision and administration.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general operation of Community Day Services, ensuring effective service delivery and program management.
  • Supervise staff by ensuring proper service execution, scheduling, monitoring community involvement, conducting staff evaluations, and implementing disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure staff attend required training and maintain proper documentation and in-service records.
  • Participate in trainings in accordance with Alabama Department of Mental Health and agency standards.
  • Ensure monthly documentation, including progress notes, are completed and submitted by the required deadline.
  • Assist with annual habilitation meetings as needed.
  • Review monthly progress notes and oversee client progress on training objectives.
  • Ensure that Direct Support Professionals execute habilitation plan training objectives.
  • Complete requisitions as necessary for individual program involvement.
  • Assist Directors with program development as needed.
  • Approve supply requisitions by program staff before forwarding to Directors.
  • Serve as a liaison with the community, acting as a representative, client advocate, and agency advocate, including speaking engagements as appropriate.
  • Assist with special duties and projects as assigned.
  • Report program and individual progress to Directors.
  • Conduct and attend staff meetings as necessary to ensure program delivery and development.
