Job summary

The Kenton County Public Library in Kentucky is seeking an Event Planner/Programmer II who is creative, organized, and passionate about bringing people together. You will plan and execute engaging library programs, coordinate budgets, room setup, catering, and marketing materials.

You will collaborate with library staff, community organizations, businesses, vendors, and performers to create memorable events and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• KDLA certification (or ability to obtain) for this position.
• Experience in event planning, marketing and/or public relations required.
• Demonstrated professionalism and team-building experience.
• Experience in building community and business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute engaging library programs, events, and community gatherings.
• Coordinate budgets, contracts, room setup, catering, entertainment, equipment, and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with staff, community organizations, vendors, and performers to create impactful events.
• Promote library events through partnerships, social media, and outreach.
• Train and support staff and volunteers in event procedures and best practices.
• Provide excellent customer service at public service points and assist with operations.
• Track outcomes, prepare reports, and ensure events are delivered efficiently.
