Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Spring 2027 intern for ABC11-WTVD in Durham, NC. The role combines Community Engagement and Marketing to connect with local audiences through partnerships, digital storytelling, and campaigns across TV, social, streaming, and events.

Applicants should be a college junior or senior studying communications, PR, marketing, or related fields, with strong writing, social media, and design tool skills. On-site, 18 hours/week, January–June 2027.

Qualifications

Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Canva or similar content creation tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in writing and professional communication skills.
Experience using social media platforms to engage with an audience.
Working experience with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the ABC11 Speakers Bureau, including talent appearances and community speaking engagements.
Support social media postings for community-focused and sponsored events to promote station initiatives and community partnerships.
Assist with planning and execution of community engagement initiatives, interviews, partner events, and onsite activations.
Write, shoot, edit, and produce marketing content across platforms while maintaining ABC11 brand consistency.
Produce graphics, maps, and other elements to support daily newscast production.
Collaborate with marketing to determine AI workflow and content creation efficiencies.
