Job summary

City and County of San Francisco seeks a Community Engagement Assistant to support the San Francisco Economic Justice Center. This temporary, part-time role focuses on outreach, engagement, and communications for StopScams SF and Kindergarten to College initiatives.

Responsibilities include planning events, creating outreach materials, and building relationships with schools and communities across the city. Up to 20 hours/week, through June 2027, with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or has completed, coursework toward a degree in public policy, communications, social work, education, economics, or a related field; OR
• Equivalent experience conducting community outreach, engagement, or organizing work may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Availability to work up to 20 hours per week, including some evening and weekend outreach events.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of tabling, presentations, workshops, and community listening sessions for EJC programs, including at community organizations, schools, and other institutions in community.
• Represent EJC at community events and public forums; bring back learnings to inform program work.
• Assist with staffing StopScams SF community listening sessions and K2C school-based events, including some evening and weekend outreach.
