Job summary

The Summit Center in Western New York seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator to lead fundraising, events, donor engagement, and community partnerships. You will plan and execute two signature events—the Summit Autism Walk and Summit Gala—and coordinate timelines, vendors, materials, and volunteer coordination.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, you’ll create content for campaigns, support social media and PR, and help track engagement metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years’ experience required.
• Working knowledge of CRM software databases (Bloomerang preferred), Microsoft Office, Canva, InDesign and SharePoint preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
• Knowledge of special event fundraising software platforms a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute fundraising events and outreach initiatives.
• Coordinate two signature events: Summit Autism Walk and Summit Gala.
• Manage vendor relationships and content for fundraising platforms.
• Grow third-party fundraising through outreach and partnerships.

Pay: $24 - $25/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 37.5 hrs./week, additional availability as needed for events

Your Impact as the Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports Summit’s fundraising and outreach efforts by managing events, donor engagement, and community partnerships. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Development, this role leads the planning and execution of two signature events - the Summit Autism Walk and the Summit Gala.

Responsibilities include developing event timelines, coordinating with committees, creating event materials, managing vendors and in-kind partners, and producing content for fundraising platforms. The Coordinator also grows third-party fundraising efforts through outreach and relationship-building, and represents The Summit Center at community events and presentations.

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Develop and execute initiatives to increase visibility and awareness of The Summit Center.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate outreach events, open houses, and advocacy initiatives; represent Summit at community events.
• Secure opportunities and experiences for Summit students, families, and staff through partnerships and sponsorships.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

• Support development of video content for social media and digital campaigns.
• Create short- and long-form content (interviews, testimonials, behind-the-scenes).
• Assist with social media campaigns, including giveaways, contests, and live events.

Video Production

• Plan, storyboard, shoot, and edit mission-driven video content.
• Coordinate video shoots, interviews, and locations.
• Manage video assets and maintain equipment inventory.
• Support event communications, engagement, and donor retention strategies.
• Partner with third-party event organizers to maximize impact.
• Provide social media coverage and assist with print/digital materials and event documentation.

Content and Public Relations

• Gather and curate stories for marketing and fundraising.
• Ensure consistent branding and messaging across platforms.
• Assist with media outreach and organization of PR materials.
• Track and report on engagement metrics; recommend improvements.
• Collaborate across teams to align community engagement with fundraising and organizational goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years’ experience required
