The Coalition Against Trafficking & Exploitation is a statewide collaborative effort of agencies and individuals building on a community movement to prevent and respond to human trafficking and exploitation through advocacy, public policy, education, and direct outreach strategies. Collectively, these core activities work towards our vision to ensure evidence-based service delivery to survivors and standardized education and awareness to the Missouri region. The CATE coalition believes in a community that is Educated, Aware, and Supportive.

CATE is a program of Healing Action Network.

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly organized, resourceful individual interested in systems change to join a high functioning team that works with a diverse group of community partners.

The Community Education Manager, reporting to the Coalition Director, is responsible for leading and implementing the coalition’s training and community education activities, under eduCATE. As an important member of the CATE team, the manager will coordinate and facilitate a variety of training topics that center on standards of care for serving human trafficking survivors as well as creating tailored training and education materials.

  • Have a degree in Social Work, Public Health, or related degree with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in training and education, preferably within the non-profit or human services sector.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of human trafficking and exploitation issues, including intervention frameworks, victim identification, and support services.
  • Have demonstrable experience in program development, curriculum design, and instructional methods.
  • Have excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Are detail-oriented, organized, goal-directed, and can demonstrate professional writing skills and the use of collaborative software and mass communication tools.
  • Have a flexible, creative, and proactive working style with the ability to work independently and as part of the team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Can pass a background, driving record, and Family Care registry check.
  • Have a valid driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation at time of hire and ability to maintain throughout employment. This position requires frequent travel.
What You Will Do:

Training Development & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and update training programs on human trafficking and exploitation for various audiences, including service providers, community members, and other stakeholders.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, and online resources, that are informative, engaging, and culturally sensitive.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and conduct training sessions and workshops across the state of Missouri, both in-person and virtually, for diverse groups.
  • Facilitate interactive discussions, role-playing exercises, and Q&A sessions to enhance participant learning and engagement.
  • Coordinate training partnerships to expand training opportunities for CATE members and the community.
  • Maintain database records through accurate/timely documentation of all activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports on training activities, outcomes, and impact for internal and external stakeholders.

Community Engagement & Advocacy

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, legislators, healthcare providers, social services, advocacy groups, community organizations, schools, faith-based groups, and businesses to identify training needs, co-host events, and share resources.
  • Participate in and represent CATE at exhibits, workshops, promotions, and conferences to promote community awareness of human trafficking and exploitation issues.
  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of anti-trafficking.
  • Participate as directed and assigned to workgroups and other committees.
